The idea behind giving hats is that it gives a bit of extra warmth and protection for patients and their families who may be going to and from the hospital in the cold winter months, and it may help them stay hea lthy as well as giving them a symbol that shows people care about them.
Last year Arkansas Children’s Hospital began a program called “Knitting for Noggins”, which provided warm winter hats to children in the hospital and those who come to the hospital for treatment. they received more than 27,000 hats from around the country and two foreign countries as well!
